God Has a Purpose for Storms

by

If you are in the midst of suffering, you can trust that God is using it for both your good and His kingdom. God Has a Purpose for Storms Psalm 119:71 71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. Perhaps you’ve seen a TV show in which a distracted person is about to step in front of a moving vehicle. Then suddenly another character races onto the scene, tackling him to prevent a catastrophe. Stunned and indignant, the near-victim fumes and swats at his rescuer—that is, until realizing he has just …

In chapter two of the Book of Galatians, I saw something more clearly than I had before

by

In chapter two of the Book of Galatians, I saw something more clearly than I had before. There was an event which had taken place earlier in Antioch which Paul was relating to the Galatian church as a great warning, both to them and therefore to us as well. A group of men had come down to Antioch from Jerusalem, having been sent from James. Peter and Barnabas were there with Paul, apparently co-ministering with him to the people there in Antioch. The Jews, upon arriving there, were very persuasive and succeeded in bringing even Peter and Barnabas under the …

PSALM 42:1-2 _____________________________________________ “As the deer pants for streams of water, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? ” GOD’S GREAT CARE Do you know how much God cares for you? In this life we may never come to a full knowledge of just how much, but if we stop to meditate on this verse we might gain a closer understanding. The Lord has His ways of helping us see His truth. Dr. Mike Murphy “What was it like to live with Jesus?”, the young boy asked.  The man paused, and drew a deep breath as he reflected back in his mind.  As the memories raced through his thoughts, he fought back the tears that could have so easily filled his eyes.  Those years had been unlike any other, and even today he was still learning just how special they were. He remembered the three and one half years he had travelled the countryside with Christ, the time he spent with Him had gone by in a flash.  But in that moment, …

by

“We love him, because he first loved us.”— 1 John 4:19 There is no light in the planet but that which proceedeth from the sun; and there is no true love to Jesus in the heart but that which cometh from the Lord Jesus himself. From this overflowing fountain of the infinite love of God, all our love to God must spring. This must ever be a great and certain truth, that we love him for no other reason than because he first loved us. Our love to him is the fair offspring of his love to us. Cold admiration, …

by

“There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.”— Psalm 76:3 Our Redeemer’s glorious cry of “It is finished,” was the death-knell of all the adversaries of his people, the breaking of “the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle.” Behold the hero of Golgotha using his cross as an anvil, and his woes as a hammer, dashing to shivers bundle after bundle of our sins, those poisoned “arrows of the bow;” trampling on every indictment, and destroying every accusation. What glorious blows the mighty Breaker gives …

The High Priest’s Outfit

by

The basic significance of the clothing of the high priest and the other common priests was the concept of separation in that they were separated, sanctified or set apart, for divine use. The common priests had a more modest type of clothing, and the high priest had a very special type of clothing. The significance of the clothing of the priests was twofold. First, it emphasized the holiness of God. Secondly, it signified the need for an intermediary in that no Jew was free to go up to the Tabernacle, offer his own sacrifice, then walk into the Holy of Holies …
