Why Prophecy Matters

by

Why Prophecy Matters Pete Garcia Why study Bible prophecy? Well, I could start this article off by saying that around 27% percent of your Bible is prophetic. Or I could start off by saying that almost every book in the Bible contains prophecy. Or I could start by saying that out of the 300 or so prophecies concerning Christ’s first coming, they all were fulfilled literally and perfectly. But you already know all this since many of you read the OL simply because you are passionate about God and His prophetic word. Studying the prophetic word is to study the …

Does God Have a Son?

by

Does God Have a Son? Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum Ariel Ministries Two passages make the point that the Messiah is also, in some way, the Son of God. 1. PSALM 2 The first of these is Psalm 2, which deals primarily with the Kingship of the Messiah, but which also brings out the Messiah’s Sonship with God. The twelve verses of the Psalm read as follows: Why do the nations [Gentiles] rage, And the peoples meditate a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against Jehovah, and against his anointed [Messiah], saying, Let …

Genesis Message 75 Joseph Cast into Prison

by

In this video Dr Woodhead discusses Joseph being cast into prison due to Potiphar’s wife accusing him of sexual aggression. He spent about thirteen years in total with Potiphar and at least seven years in Pharaoh’s prison. Only one prison incident was important enough to be included in the Bible. The Lord was using his prison experiences as a time of preparation for the elevated level of leadership he had in store for Joseph. Joseph assumed the office of prime minister in Egypt at the age of thirty. David also became king of Israel at thirty (II Samuel 5: 4). …

“Thou shalt call his name Jesus.” Matthew 1:21

by

“Thou shalt call his name Jesus.” Matthew 1:21 When a person is dear, everything connected with him becomes dear for his sake. Thus, so precious is the person of the Lord Jesus in the estimation of all true believers, that everything about him they consider to be inestimable beyond all price. “All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia,” said David, as if the very vestments of the Saviour were so sweetened by his person that he could not but love them. Certain it is, that there is not a spot where that hallowed foot hath trodden–there is not …

Faith and Grace:

by

Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand…therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace…”the just shall live by faith.” (Romans 5:2; 4:16; 1:17) Faith accesses the grace of God. “Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand.” When we first trusted in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we enjoyed our initial access into grace. God intends for His children to continue accessing grace day by day throughout their lives. Every time we face any matter with dependence upon the Lord Jesus, …

When Spiritual Passion Diminishes

by

If your spiritual passion cools, spending time in God’s Word will restore your excitement. 2 Timothy 1:1 – 1:11 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, [my] dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 I thank God, whom I serve from [my] forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; 4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, …

Genesis Message 74 Joseph Elevated to Overseer for Potiphar

by

In this video Dr Woodhead discusses the story of Joseph’s elevation to overseer in Potiphar’s house. While there in Potiphar’s employ his wife came on to him demanding a sexual union. Joseph refused with two good reasons. One, Potiphar had put his complete trust in Joseph and God provided his with all the opportunities he realized and two, Joseph would not violate his relationship to God. God would know because, “The eyes of the lord are in every place beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15: 3). All sin is against God. But she was persistent. The text says …

The Simple Gospel

by

What is the gospel? — what is the true good news of God? The good news is wrapped up in a PERSON – a Person, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The good news is that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do for human beings what human beings could not do for themselves. And what was that? God sent Christ to deliver us all from sin through His death on the Cross, and He sent Christ to usher in a new creation through His resurrection. He sent Christ to die and be raised so that we could …

Genesis Message 79 Joseph’s Brothers Come to Egypt for Food

by

Joseph had control over the land and it was his job to oversee the dispensing of food to the citizens of Egypt during the famine and authorizing it to be given to foreign purchasers as well. In perfect conformity to his first two dreams of the sheaves and the stars his brothers approach his throne and bow down to him. This must have shocked him to see this as he surely and clearly remembered the details of the dreams, his brother’s envy and resulting attempts by them to dispose of him. He realizes who they are but they do not …

The Tin Foil Hat Brigade

by

Pete Garcia You know who you are. You are the person other people tip toe around when it comes to discussing current events or religion. You are the person who can spend hours devouring scripture or news with equal vigor, pointing out ‘last days’ events to anyone who would listen to you. You are semi-shunned at church. You are disinvited from church socials, because you are just too intense and narrow-minded. You are called a ‘conspiracy theorist’ or a ‘Jesus Freak’ behind your back. You are always going on about the Lord’s return and that “Rapture thingy”.  Admit it. You are one of them, one of those …

THE KEY TO SURVIVING TOUGH TIMES

by

Where we focus our attention will determine how we are impacted by hardships. Hebrews 11:23-29 (KJV) 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in …
