Death and Resurrection

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. (Rom. 6:8) Jesus Christ accomplished a complete and final redemption through His death and resurrection. There are no victories left to win. There is no forgiving left to do. There is no greater defeat to be brought to Satan. But there is one thing left to do: Believe. We must believe – which means to fully embrace and surrender to Jesus Christ. The primary way in which I believe that, “It is finished,” is by losing my life for Jesus’ sake – by picking …

THE COST OF OUR SALVATION

Our salvation came at great cost. And He calls us to live lives of sacrificial service Philippians 2:5-8 (KJV) 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. In our world of …

Faith and Grace:

The just shall live by faith…So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God…I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him. (Romans 1:17; 10:17 and 2 Timothy 1:12) The entire Christian walk is designed to be lived by faith. “The just shall live by faith.” In every step of every day, in every issue that we face, we are to rely upon the Lord. This path of trust accesses grace. Faith allows us to receive and respond to the grace that God desires …

The Answer – by Hal Lindsey

Frustration… rage… condemnation… confusion… fear.… To many, it feels like we’re in the middle of a massive and growing storm with a funnel cloud forming in the sky above our heads. Temper tantrums — with stomping feet, held breath, pointed fingers, and raised fists — are not the answer. But there is an answer… and He has a name. Jesus. Jesus was a Man of perfect humility. He’s the One who said, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5 NKJV). But He was also perfectly honest about His identity as God the Son sent from …

The Last Days According to Everyone

Monday, February 06, 2017 Pete Garcia The ancient Vikings believed in ‘Ragnarok’. The Buddhist believe in the coming of the ‘Maitreya’. The Hindus believe that the ‘Kalki’ brings an end to the current Kali Yuga. Islam predicts that the end will come when the ‘Mahdi’ returns. Even atheists and skeptics posit that we are overdue for an occurrence such as a meteor, super volcano, global weather extreme, or other cataclysmic earth-ending event. It is common for cultures and societies to look toward the future with a certain level of trepidation. The future represents change. It is the big and dark …

Question 9: What is the “great star” of Revelation 8:10-11?

Posted on February 4, 2017 by Ariel Ministries Revelation 8:10-11 says: 10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood. (ESV) Answer: Whenever the word “star” is used symbolically in the Scriptures, it always symbolizes an angel. The context determines whether it is a good angel or a …

Faith and Grace:

Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand…therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace…”the just shall live by faith.” (Romans 5:2; 4:16; 1:17) Faith accesses the grace of God. “Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand.” When we first trusted in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we enjoyed our initial access into grace. God intends for His children to continue accessing grace day by day throughout their lives. Every time we face any matter with dependence upon the Lord …

To lose one’s life into the hands of Jesus

Is a commitment to allow God to do whatever it takes to bring me into the fullness of Christ. That commitment is an unconditional faith. It is a commitment that we are going to have to live out by picking up the cross and walking. But along the way we will — not only commit acts of sin — but our faith and commitment is going to be continually challenged so that it might be strengthened — and at times we may faint and lapse into unbelief. The question is whether we get up and realize that this isn’t about whether we sin — but whether we will continue on in the faith of the Lord. Indeed, it is certain that if we do relinquish ourselves to the Lord, that we will pass through a long season of wilderness wherein God will bring out all of our fake faith, unrighteousness, and complete barrenness. And that wont’ be pretty — yet it will be the TRUTH — and show us that all of our faith must be in Christ, and none in us. But so many at a time like that look at their failures and conclude that this means that God is not with them. No, such an exposure is evidence that Christ is in you — and you are seeing LIGHT. Isn’t it amazing how we continue to evaluate ourselves in order to figure out whether Christ is in us? WE are not evidence that Christ is in us. Christ Himself is the evidence and we need to put ourselves completely aside and abide in HIM. The fact is, we are all going to fail — it is all we can do in ourselves — but God will show us our failures so that we might stop being preoccupied with ourselves. So the question becomes, when we do fail, or sin — even after having made this commitment of faith to lose my life to the Lord — what do I do then? Simply this: I open myself to God, confess to Him my condition, and get right back into losing my life for His sake. It is never too late, and there is never a situation, wherein that is not possible. We have to grasp the fact that part of the surrender of self ownership to God is the surrender of self-righteousness — I have to surrender everything about myself that I was using to stand before the Lord. God will be working towards this end to set me free, but if I don’t understand that, I may be confused. I think that all of us have the tendency to examine ourselves to, “see how we are doing” — and without realizing it, we have put ourselves right back under a law — and despair. But the Bible says to examine ourselves to see whether we are IN THE FAITH. I hope this helps. Expect to fail. But faith is never in ourselves, whether we fail or succeed — but rather in Christ despite either

I stand in awe..

This broken.. shattered soul was a disaster.. A train-wreck of abused emotion.. I was convinced I was a mistake.. I was worthless and deserved to be hurt and betrayed.. I allowed my emptiness to lead me to dark places.. So dark I was a part of it.. The depth of it.. I begged God daily to take me.. But where He took me is not where I ever dreamt of.. He took that black hole and filled it with sunshine.. He took the clouds and showed me different ways to look at them.. He taught me I was not who …

Losing Our Lives

Reflections   If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matt. 16:24-25)   Millions today are being taught that God wants to bless their lives, and they are being given instructions as to how to get Him to do it. Yet Jesus states here that we are to LOSE our lives for His sake. How likely is it that God will bless a life that we are told …

The Simple Gospel

What is the gospel? — what is the true good news of God? The good news is wrapped up in a PERSON – a Person, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The good news is that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do for human beings what human beings could not do for themselves. And what was that? God sent Christ to deliver us all from sin through His death on the Cross, and He sent Christ to usher in a new creation through His resurrection. He sent Christ to die and be raised so that we could be …

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles;they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
