The Last Time

From the moment you hold your baby in your arms, you will never be the same. You might long for the person you were before, When you have freedom and time,And nothing in particular to worry about. You will know tiredness like you never knew it before,And days will run into days that are exactly the same,Full of feedings and burping,Nappy changes and crying,Whining and fighting,Naps or a lack of naps,It might seem like a never-ending cycle. But don’t forget …There is a last time for everything. There will come a time when you will feedyour baby for the very last time. They will fall …

BLIND, HAVING NEVER SEEN CLEARER

“And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink” (Acts 9:8,9 KJV). A blind man… who can see! Saul of Tarsus, filled with religious pride and hatred, eager to persecute Messianic Jews, was heading toward Damascus. A bright light from heaven suddenly shown about him; he said many years later in Acts 22:11, “I could not see for the glory of that light.” That light was “above the …

Our Treasure

When it comes to possessions and money, the right perspective is that God owns it all and we’re simply managers Matthew 6:19 – 6:21 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. No Excuses

Ignoring God won’t get Him to change His plans. Jonah learned this the hard way, but we can learn an easier way—from his story. Jonah 1:1 – 1:17 1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, …

The Things We Leave Behind

One of the biggest obstacles people have about becoming a Christian is that they think once you do, all the fun has to end.  Like entering the priesthood where the only thing they have to look forward too is celibacy and endless sermons.  They see only the negatives of ‘thou shall not’s’, and none of the liberty and freedom that is found in Christ. OUR RELIGION Churches across the fruited plain are filled with row after row of ‘pious’ people, who you would think their face would crack in two if they ever tried to smile.  This is in large …

‘Woman, why do you weep?’ (Jn. 20:13a)

John 20:11-18Mary Magdalene is at the tomb of Jesus and the angels ask her, ‘Woman, why do you weep?’ (Jn. 20:13a), ‘they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him’ (Jn. 20:13b). Now when Jesus appeared to her, she did not recognize Him immediately (Jn. 20:14) and He asked her the same question. Mary thinking He was the gardener asks ‘tell me where you have taken Him, and I will take him away’ (Jn. 19:15b). Jesus then called her by name, and it was then she finally recognized Him and called to Him in …

Prophecy, the Bible and Jesus

by Matt Slick11/22/08 How do you respond to someone’s claim that the Bible is not inspired? Is there a way to prove inspiration or, at least, intelligently present evidence for its inspiration? The answer is, “Yes!” One of the best ways to prove inspiration is by examining prophecy. There are many religious books in the world that have many good things to say, but only the Bible has fulfilled prophecies–with more fulfillments to come. The Bible has never been wrong in the past, and it won’t be wrong in the future. It claims inspiration from God (2 Tim. 3:16). Since God is the creator of all things …
