Shaping Eternity

by

How many times have I said that “our eternity is shaped in time”. Not only our eternity but even the eternity of some that cross our paths in life (time). As Christians we should be impacting others as we walk the path that Almighty God has set before us. We need to be reflecting Jesus as we live in these end times. We should stand out in these darkening time in which we live. So how do we shape our eternity … well how do people shape their lives on planet earth. They invest into their lives for the future. They …

Crucified WITH Christ

by

Reflections Paul, the apostle certainly knew that Jesus Christ was crucified FOR him. The fact that Jesus died FOR us – tasted death for every person – is an absolute fact and the foundation of the redemption. But it is precisely because Christ died FOR us that Paul was able to make this statement:I am crucified WITH Christ. (Gal. 2:20) If Jesus merely died FOR us, then we could be legally forgiven. But our old man in Adam would not be crucified in Him. The body of sin would not be destroyed. (Rom. 6:6) That means we would remain in …

Works cannot save us; God’s grace is a free gift that must be received by faith.

by

Romans 5:1-6 5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for …

Depend

by

By Tiffany Wismer Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.Proverbs 3:5-6 This verse is one of those that gets quoted a lot. It winds up on merchandise in kitchy Christian bookstores. We quote it to friends going through tough times. Some of us may have grown numb to its meaning because we’ve heard it so often. But there’s a reason why Christians quote this verse a lot. It is central to the Christian life. It’s talking about dependence. I’m tempted to …

Q. I believe your teaching that Jesus’ payment for my sins covers all of my sins from birth to death. Why do some teachers teach that the Lord’s death only covers one’s past sins, and we are personally responsible for our future ones?

Gracethrufaith Question of the Day:Q. I believe your teaching that Jesus’ payment for my sins covers all of my sins from birth to death. Why do some teachers teach that the Lord’s death only covers one’s past sins, and we are personally responsible for our future ones? A. People who teach that only our pre-salvation sins are covered don’t fully comprehend what happened at the cross. The Bible says His death was a once-for-all-time sacrifice for sin that has made perfect forever those who are being made Holy (Hebrews 10:12-14). “Once-for-all-time” means His death covered every sin from the beginning …

The First of Our Second Chances

by

Because God’s grace is immeasurably greater than our sin, He sent His Son Jesus to be our second chance Romans 3:10-18 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:17 And …

a shoot from the stump of Jesse… Isaiah 11:1

by

The picture given is of a tree which has been cut down, leaving only a dead stump. Then, a single shoot comes up that eventually becomes a tree in its own right. It is interesting that this particular messianic prophecy does not use the name of David but uses the name of David’s father, Jesse. David is normally associated with kingship and wealth. However, it should not be forgotten that in his youth, while still living in his father’s house, David was a poor shepherd boy. It wasn’t until when David became king that the house of Jesse was raised …

Jesus in the Old Testament

by

By Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., Ph.D., There is no finer teacher on whether Jesus is to be found in the pages of the Old Testament than the teaching of our Lord Jesus himself. He it was who said in John 5:39, “You [Jewish people] diligently study the Scriptures [which at that time were the 39 books of the Tanak/Old Testament]…. These are the Scriptures that testify about me.” That should settle the question. But even more famously, Jesus rebuked Cleopas, and that other unnamed disciple, as they walked along the road to Emmaus on that first Easter Sunday, “How foolish you …

Question: “Is the deity of Christ biblical?”

by

Answer: In addition to Jesus’ specific claims about Himself, His disciples also acknowledged the deity of Christ. They claimed that Jesus had the right to forgive sins—something only God can do—as it is God who is offended by sin (Acts 5:31; Colossians 3:13; Psalm 130:4; Jeremiah 31:34). In close connection with this last claim, Jesus is also said to be the one who will “judge the living and the dead” (2 Timothy 4:1). Thomas cried out to Jesus, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). Paul calls Jesus “great God and Savior” (Titus 2:13) and points out that prior to His incarnation Jesus existed …

Four and Twenty Elders – by Jack Kinsella

by

It was the Lord Himself that outlined the Book of His Revelation in three distinct parts; “that which thou [John] hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.” (Revelation 1:19) The Apostle John had just recorded the messages to the Seven Churches of Asia Minor as given by Jesus when John was suddenly whisked in his vision from his cave on Patmos to a scene in heaven. The Book is therefore divided thusly: Revelation 1:1-20 – “the things which John hast seen” — the vision of the Lord Jesus Christ in Glory. Revelation 2:1 …

A New Year’s Resolution List For The Church

by

Dr. Mike MurphyJanuary 1, 2019 Each day, we watch as the darkness grows.  As society looks to push the Lord as far away as possible, and this world looks for new ways to silence the voice of us who believe.  But as the darkness grows, hope does not begin to fade, as in the midst of the greatest darkness, the Light shines the brightest. This might be a world that wants us less than ever, but this is a world that needs us more than ever.  A world in tremendous need of seeing that Light, as it reflects and radiates …
