Turn Around

Turn Around by Charles R. Swindoll Scriptures: Job 42:1–6 Then Job answered Jehovah, and said, 2I know that thou canst do all things, And that no purpose of thine can be restrained. 3Who is this that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I uttered that which I understood not, Things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. 4Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 5I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; But now mine eye seeth thee: 6Wherefore I abhor myself, And repent in …

The Prodigal Son:

by

The Prodigal Son: by JACK WELLMAN The parable of the Prodigal Son is a story about God’s redemptive grace and mercy. It is a story of His unconditional love and forgiveness. It is about God seeking sinners. In Luke 15, Jesus tells about the youngest son coming to his father to ask for his inheritance ahead of time. The youngest son would only receive one-third of the father’s inheritance in accord to the Old Testament laws in Deuteronomy 21:17. He then took the inheritance and ran away to spend it all on having a good time. He had plenty of …

Now I Lay Me…..

by

Now I Lay Me…..   “You had better be asleep by the time I get there!” She heard herself saying the words as if robotic. Words it seems she had to repeat every night. But that was life with a five year old son, repeating the same words over and over each day.   As she reached his room, she could already hear the constant moving. As she peeped around the corner of the door, she found her son still sitting up in the middle of the bed. “I thought I told you to get to sleep!”   “Mama, I …

The Source of Our Hope

by

The Source of Our Hope Colossians 1:26-28 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Hope is a desire for something, accompanied by the anticipation of receiving it. If our expectation of fulfillment diminishes, …

A Shining City on a Hill – by Hal Lindsey

by

A Shining City on a Hill – by Hal Lindsey I was thinking yesterday that it seems like every general election is even more critical than the previous one. Like the boy who cried, “Wolf!”, I fear that our recurring alarm about the consequences of each election will slowly numb us into a state of despondency. We’ll begin to tire of the constant need to be vigilant and pro-active. But the sobering truth is that each election truly IS more important than the last. This one, especially, since our nation appears to be in a moral freefall. I believe this …

The Rapture: Part I

by

by Pete Garcia The Rapture: Part I I originally wrote this article around June of 2012. I think my reasoning then, was that I had been running into more and more Christians who had never heard of the Rapture. Granted, they may have heard of the Left Behind books, or they knew generally of a Rapture, but they had never investigated it themselves. Truthfully, I was both intrigued and disturbed by this new reality, and felt compelled to write about it. Now, there are much better and more famous writers than I who have done just that, so I don’t claim any …

Ye Shall Be As Gods

by

Ye Shall Be As Gods When a team hits on a winning tactic, then logic dictates that it should continue to use that tactic as long as it remains effective. Team Satan is no exception. Way back in the Garden of Eden, Satan set the standard for false doctrine, outlining in a single sentence the roots from which all heresies spring. It began with God issuing a prohibition to Adam and Eve regarding the fruit of one particular tree in the Garden of Eden. “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest …

144 Thousand

by

144 Thousand God’s focus turns to Israel The fullness of the Gentiles will conclude the age of Grace with the rapture of the Church. The Lord will then once again call on Israel to be a spiritual witness and light to the nations during the seven year tribulation that will follow. The Jewish witnesses will not only include the much speculated about Two Witnesses (many believe to be Elijah & Moses) (Revelation 11:3-13), but also 144,000 sealed Jewish witnesses made up of 12,000 Jews from each of Israel’s 12 tribes (Revelation 7:4-8). Despite terrible persecution and martyrdom, hundreds of millions …

Praise God During Hard Times

by

Praise God During Hard Times More and more it seems that suffering and hurt are prevalent everywhere we look. I think now more than ever, we need to stand as Christians and unite as one body and pray for our country. Satan is so easily using people for his wicked agendas. This is not a surprise, but it still hurts. If you are hurting right now while reading this, know that your tender, loving Father has His arms open and He is always ready to hold you if you just let Him. Many people that are hurting today are cursing …

Simply Believe

by

Gracethrufaith Question of the Day: Q. I know that Jesus is my Savior, and I know that the only way to get saved is to believe in Him and His death on the cross for my sins. I have been wrestling with Satan, who is trying to convince me that I am not saved because I don’t have enough faith in what Christ did, and therefore I have to do more to keep my salvation. I know none of this is true, but how can I convince my heart of this and get Satan out of my head? A. The …

What makes a Christian a Christian?

by

What makes a Christian a Christian? By Tiffany Wismer What makes a Christian a Christian? This is a question that is both very simple and very difficult to answer. According to the Bible, there is only one thing that makes a person a Christian, and that is faith in Jesus Christ. But what does that mean? Does it mean just saying “I believe” or praying a prayer? Or is there more to it? The book of Romans goes step by step through what salvation means. The beginning chapters talk about sin, and the penalty for sin (death, hell) and the …

We Will Rise!

by

We Will Rise! They say we are down, that we no longer matter. They tell us we are outdated, proclaiming ideas that went out with the past. The world turns its’ face from us, and society mocks us with every chance. They laugh at us, telling us that people no longer need us. They dig our grave, announcing our death. But we will rise! They laugh as they watch us bicker, seeing our numbers fall. They listen to the sounds of those who claim to speak for us, those who seek to glorify their own name. The world places them …

Do Not Starve Your Soul of Nourishment

by

Are you indeed Christ’s sheep? Then beware of wandering from the pasture He has provided. The devil and the old Adam would often persuade you there is no need for this diligence in using means of grace: “Surely,” they will say, “you are not such a babe but you can leave these fields for a short season; surely you need not keep so closely in your Shepherd’s sight.” Christian, take heed and beware of the charmer, charm he uses ever so wisely. Diligent private prayer, diligent Scripture searching, diligent gospel hearing—these are the pastures in which Jesus feeds His flock, …
