Psalm 56:8-9 8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. Revelation 21:4 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Reflections Wrestling With God Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. (Gen. 32:24) Jacob was promised his inheritance from God. But he did not abandon himself to God and allow God to bring it to pass. He represents ourselves – and the efforts of religious flesh – not to directly rebel against God – but to try to wrestle from God what God has already promised to freely give. God has made many promises in His Word. It is good and right for us to believe Him. But if we …
Speaking Through Sickness Acts 9:1-9 9 Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, 2 and asked for letters from him to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; 4 and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” 5 …
In describing the believer’s position, the apostle draws a contrast between where they were in the Mosaic Law. Next, he will tell them where they are now in Christianity. If these Jewish believers go back to the old system, they are returning to a place that was inaugurated by utter terror. In contrast, they leave a place of privilege and grace as exemplified by the heavenly city. God wanted the ancient Israelites to fear Him so they would not sin. Exodus 20:20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and …

An Arbitrator Job 9 9 Then Job answered and said, 2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God? 3 If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand. 4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? 5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger. 6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. 7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and …

Now I Know by Charles R. Swindoll Scriptures: Job 3:1–26 There are times when others’ words only make our troubles worse. That may seem too elementary to mention, so why would I? Well, have you learned it? Are you still listening to everybody? If so, it’s small wonder that you’re confused. There are times when God’s ways only make us more confused. There, I’ve said it. I’ve been wanting to say that all through this chapter, and I finally worked up the courage. My point? Don’t expect to understand everything that happens when it occurs. I don’t care if you …
A Life of Becoming 2 Corinthians 4:7-18 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also …
The Slide into Nihilism – by Hal Lindsey It is almost impossible to overstate the importance of the crossroads at which we stand today in America. The unexpected election of Donald Trump forced into open view the truth about the “fundamental change” that has occurred in our nation during the last few years. It revealed unacknowledged corruption in our government’s institutions that has shaken the confidence of many Americans. In the same way, the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court has exposed the extreme threat the Left poses to the core values of our republic. None of us …
