A Most Unwelcome Leader
08/21/2018 You have to admit – it’s a fantastic story. Against all odds, a well-known polarizing figure gains the leadership of an entire nation – the world’s number one superpower. But he’s an outsider. He’s not one of the establishment folk, and his path to power was an unconventional one. Not everyone is happy about this – especially the members of the ruling class. This new guy’s a legitimate threat to their self-serving agenda, and his early successes force them to rethink what they most want to believe about themselves. While the new leader gained his position through proper process, …
I recall a time when I was so hopeless..
I recall a time when I was so hopeless.. Life just exsisted and I felt it was just as good as it was going to get.. I was SO shattered and full of no self worth.. I lived my daily life with regret and I wanted a way out.. Slowly God started revealing His amazing plan but I didn’t realize it was Him.. My dreams filled my heart but I was far from feeling they would ever come into play.. One step at a time I kept walking.. Though the road was dark and lonely it brought me to a …
Given Over
Pete Garcia As of late, there has been a growing and disturbing trend not only across America, but also around the world known as Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Allegedly, TDS results in the inability to cope with the reality that Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States. However, here is the truly puzzling part of it all…the MAGA situation. Why do so many revolt against the idea that Trump wants to Make America Great Again? Presumably, if we became great again, it would mean more jobs, better living conditions, more money flowing through the economy and into the pockets …

The Trees that are Slow to Grow Bear the Best Fruit – Molière
The Trees that are Slow to Grow Bear the Best Fruit – Molière How patient should we be? To what extent is godly patience practiced? How many chances should we give to someone who knowingly has bad intentions and wants to harm us? Very often, we act hastily at the first hint of an offense, and we are quick to condemn. Is our patience contained in a shallow vase that needs only a few drops more to overflowing which then pulls the trigger of condemnation? To bring truth even closer to the surface, we need to question the extent to …
Building Muscles of Faith
Building Muscles of Faith 1 Kings 18:22-23 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: “I wish I had great faith.” These are words that almost every Christian has said at one time or …

“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” How many times during each of our lives have we heard these words? Despite how often you have heard these words, how many of you know where these words come from? We all know these as words of encouragement, words that tell us the benefit of diligence and hard work. Most who know a little about these words, will attribute them to Benjamin Franklin, and his publication of Poor Richard’s Almanac. In the 1735 version of the almanac, most Americans first saw these words in print. Words …
No Mind Can Conceive It
No Mind Can Conceive It In pardoning the sin, and in justifying the sinner, the penalty incurred and the obedience demanded must be met. The law must be honored, justice satisfied, holiness secured, and the righteousness, dignity, and glory of the moral Government of God displayed and magnified in the eyes of the whole universe. Let an ingenuous and thoughtful mind pause and enquire how could God exhibit His infinite abhorrence of sin, and vindicate the holiness of the law; how exact the stern penalty incurred by the one, and meet the unbending requirements of the other- by saving the sinner …
“He shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord.”—Micah 5:4.
“He shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord.”—Micah 5:4. CHRIST’S reign in His Church is that of a shepherd-king. He has supremacy, but it is the superiority of a wise and tender shepherd over his needy and loving flock; He commands and receives obedience, but it is the willing obedience of the well-cared-for sheep, rendered joyfully to their beloved Shepherd, whose voice they know so well. He rules by the force of love and the energy of goodness. His reign is practical in its character. It is said, “He shall stand and feed.” The great Head of …
