Yesterday's Prophecy, Today's News

Misery Loves Company In Defense of the Faith Monday, June 25, 2018 Pete Garcia Author’s note-June 8th, 2018: This is the first article I ever wrote for the Omega Letter. Even today, I am amazed that I am still writing seven-years later, especially considering I never particularly cared for writing. Anywho, I thought of this article when I saw the news that Anthony Bourdain had hung himself in his hotel room in France today. This was the guy that every time I saw his show “Parts Unknown,” I thought, has to have the best job in the world. He gets to travel …

Reflections Seeing Jesus Christ But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14) Natural man cannot receive the things of God – he has no frame of reference — because natural man, left to himself, does not know Jesus Christ. All discernment in the Christian life is the product of knowing and seeing Jesus Christ. HE is the Light and the Truth. Left to myself, my natural man will instead accept as the Truth whatever my makeup …

Pondering Thoughts I have been born from above Christ lives in me. I still have the old man operating in the flesh. I realize that I don’t want to give up that part of me. I also realize I don’t have the faith I say I do. My flesh is saying to me God cannot give you what I can. This is a lie. I know this. I’m bringing this lie of darkness into the light so it does not have it’s power over me. My flesh is calling God a liar and I weep over this. It is a …

“Get thee up into the high mountain.” Isaiah 40:9   Our knowledge of Christ is somewhat like climbing one of our Welsh mountains. When you are at the base you see but little: the mountain itself appears to be but one-half as high as it really is. Confined in a little valley, you discover scarcely anything but the rippling brooks as they descend into the stream at the foot of the mountain. Climb the first rising knoll, and the valley lengthens and widens beneath your feet. Go higher, and you see the country for four or five miles round, and …

Question: “Who will occupy the Millennial Kingdom?” Answer: There will be two distinct groups occupying the Earth during the millennial kingdom—those with glorified bodies, and those with earthly bodies who lived through the tribulation and on into the millennial kingdom. Those with glorified bodies consist of the Church, receiving glorified bodies at the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:21-23, 51-53), and those who are resurrected after Christ returns to Earth (Revelation 20:4-6). Those who have earthly bodies can be subdivided into two groups: believing Gentiles and believing Jews (Israel). In Revelation 19:11-16, we find the return of Jesus Christ …

“A certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” Luke 11:27-28 It is fondly imagined by some that it must have involved very special privileges to have been the mother of our Lord, because they supposed that she had the benefit of looking into his very heart in a way in which we cannot hope to do. There may be an appearance of plausibility …

Joseph’s life reminds us that suffering often causes our faith, our character, and God’s kingdom to grow God Is With Us in Hard Times GENESIS 41:14-44 14 Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came to Pharaoh. 15 Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.” 16 Joseph then answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not …

Matthew 10:29 – 10:31 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” Why should I feel discouraged Why should the shadows come Why should my heart feel lonely And long for heaven and home When Jesus is my portion A constant friend is he His eye is on the sparrow And I know he watches over me His eye is on the sparrow And I know he watches me …

“Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.”— Hosea 7:8 A cake not turned is uncooked on one side; and so Ephraim was, in many respects, untouched by divine grace: though there was some partial obedience, there was very much rebellion left. My soul, I charge thee, see whether this be thy case. Art thou thorough in the things of God? Has grace gone through the very centre of thy being so as to be felt in its divine operations in all thy powers, thy actions, thy words, and thy thoughts? To be sanctified, …

Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. 2The cities of Aroer are forsaken; they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. 3And the fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria; they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith Jehovah of hosts (ASV, 1901). “That those things which cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:27 We have many things in our possession at the present moment which can be shaken, and it ill becomes a Christian man to set much store by them, for there is nothing stable beneath these rolling skies; change is written upon all things. Yet, we have certain “things which cannot be shaken,” and I invite you this evening to think of them, that if the things which can be shaken should all be taken away, you may derive real comfort from the things that cannot be shaken, which will …
