Forgiving Oneself?

Once in awhile you will hear a Christian person talking about the need to, “forgive themselves.” But the fact is, there is not so much as a single verse in the Bible that even addresses the issue. The issue is not addressed because the entire dialog is a bunch of baloney. Indeed, this idea of forgiving oneself is nothing more than disguised self-righteousness. It is nothing more than disappointment with self because we didn’t measure up and prove we are righteous enough for God. We don’t need to forgive ourselves — we need to see the Truth about ourselves in …

“My grace is sufficient for thee.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

If none of God’s saints were poor and tried, we should not know half so well the consolations of divine grace. When we find the wanderer who has not where to lay his head, who yet can say, “Still will I trust in the Lord;” when we see the pauper starving on bread and water, who still glories in Jesus; when we see the bereaved widow overwhelmed in affliction, and yet having faith in Christ, oh! what honour it reflects on the gospel. God’s grace is illustrated and magnified in the poverty and trials of believers. Saints bear up …

Jesus had to be a man…

Read carefully Hebrews 2:17 – 2:18 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.. You would see a parrallel to John 17:19: And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. As we all know the name,ADAM means the father of the human …

How to Handle Our Fear

Believing Scripture’s promises and praying them back to God can help us break free from anxiety. Isaiah 41:10 – 41:13 10 Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. 12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, [even] them that contended with …

THE DANGER OF IDLE TALK

Proverbs 12:13-22 (KJV) 13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. 14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise. 16 A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. 17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. 18 There is that speaketh like …

Jesus stated in John 17:19: “And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”

First, some background. The word SANCTIFY means” To set apart for God’s use.” It really means to belong to God, which is why the word is often translated, “holy.” Likewise, the word SAINT comes from the same Greek word, “haggios,” and means, “holy ones, or ones set apart for God.” Indeed, even the term, “HOLY Spirit,” means, “the setting apart spirit.” From this we see that to be holy or sanctified, is by definition, what a saved person IS unto God — by definition we belong to God through Christ. But this must come to be more than just a …

FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY TO ISRAEL Part I

GOD’S FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY TO ISRAEL SINCE THE TIME OF CHRIST ByThomas S. McCall Th.D. We often hear of Bible prophecy as it relates to the First and Second Coming of Christ, which is very important, but there is much more Bible prophecy concerning what the Lord is doing between the two Advents of Jesus during the Church Age. These prophecies specifically pertain to God’s ancient covenant people, Israel, and His new covenant people, the Church. This article explains God’s preservation of, and promises to the Jewish people throughout the Church Age, in preparation for the ultimate restoration of Israel …

Facing Our Fears

Fear prevents us from trusting fully in God, but He knows the cause of our anxiety and wants to set us free   Psalms 91:1 – 91:16 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: …

“I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10

Comfort thyself, tried believer, with this thought: God saith, “I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Does not the word come like a soft shower, assuaging the fury of the flame? Yea, is it not an asbestos armour, against which the heat hath no power? Let affliction come–God has chosen me. Poverty, thou mayst stride in at my door, but God is in the house already, and he has chosen me. Sickness, thou mayst intrude, but I have a balsam ready–God has chosen me. Whatever befalls me in this vale of tears, I know that he has “chosen” …

29 Campaign of Armageddon 2

This 29th message of the book of Zechariah begins with chapter 12 and verse 9 continuing the campaign of Armageddon.

Zechariah 12:9

9And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem (ASV 1901).

At the third stage of the Campaign of Armageddon all the armies of the world will come against Jerusalem in a final attempt to destroy the nation Israel. The national regeneration of the nation Israel is the general theme of Zechariah chapter twelve. It is tied to the destruction of Babylon, which will be the world headquarters of the Antichrist (Jeremiah 50:43 etc.). The destruction of Babylon is the second stage of the Campaign of Armageddon.

Jeremiah 50:4-5

4In those days, and in that time, saith Jehovah, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek Jehovah their God. 5They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come ye, and join yourselves to Jehovah in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten (ASV 1901).

Wrestling With God

Reflections Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. (Gen. 32:24) Jacob was promised his inheritance from God. But he did not abandon himself to God and allow God to bring it to pass. He represents ourselves – and the efforts of religious flesh – not to directly rebel against God – but to try to wrestle from God what God has already freely given. God has made many promises in His Word. It is good and right for us to believe Him. But if we are continually trying to wrestle …
