Our Unmet Needs

Some of God’s promises require our participation. PHILIPPIANS 4:19 19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. God has promised to supply all our needs, yet fulfillment is sometimes slow in coming. What could be the problem? Perhaps we are. When our Father fails to meet our expectations, we generally look outside ourselves for the reason. But while God’s love is unconditional, many of His promises are not. For example, Philippians 4:19 is a “family promise”—it can be claimed only by those who rightly call the Sovereign of the universe …

THE NEED FOR SALVATION

Ephesians 2:1-3(KJV) 2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Followers of Christ know the importance of being saved, but the world …

Do You Really Believe in Jesus?

Have you ever really believed in Jesus Christ? I was talking to my five-year old son. He replied quickly, “Of course, dad.” “But have you ever really been saved? How do you really know you are saved?” He replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved,.” He ripped off the words as fast as his little mouth could phrase them. It was a verse he had memorized, and he had heard it explained so many times. Perhaps you would have answered just as he did. “Of course I am saved. Of course I believe in Jesus …

Revelation Message 73 Great White Throne Judgment

Once Satan is released he will deceive the unbelievers who are living at that time. The expression; Gog and Magog points to the level of deception similar to the pretribulation invasion of Israel that is yet future to now. The similarity is that this too will be an invasion of Israel. The invasion will be on The Holy Mountain of Israel. Once the armies arrive at the Millennial Jerusalem they will be quickly dispersed by fire out of Heaven, which will destroy them. Then the instigator, Satan will be cast into his final destination, The Lake of Fire. He will …

Why Christ?

Dr. Mike Murphy “All religions are the same” “Any religion can get you to heaven” “Every religion worships the same god” We have all heard these statements over and over.  We hear many discard and diminish religion, telling us that religion has no place in society.  We hear many claim that religion is just a way to control men, to manipulate the world in a direction that religion wants it to move.  We hear many tell us that this world has moved beyond religion, no longer in need of religion’s gods.  And we hear many tell us that religion is …

The Basis for Discernment

Spiritual discernment sharpens when we spend time in God’s Word, approaching His truth with a willing spirit. HEBREWS 4:12-13 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Spiritual discernment is the ability to see life from …

“Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:33

Divine love is rendered conspicuous when it shines in the midst of judgments. Fair is that lone star which smiles through the rifts of the thunder clouds; bright is the oasis which blooms in the wilderness of sand; so fair and so bright is love in the midst of wrath. When the Israelites provoked the Most High by their continued idolatry, he punished them by withholding both dew and rain, so that their land was visited by a sore famine; but while he did this, he took care that his own chosen ones should be secure. If all other brooks are …

Seeking God

”But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6) The word “seek” appears in KJV some 233 times. It is translated from the Greek word ekzeteo which means “to search out, investigate, worshipfully crave, seek after carefully.” This is the manner in which we come to the Lord – we seek Him out. I’ve never met anyone who came to salvation accidentally, or someone who came to know the Lord that wasn’t seeking the truth …

The Best I Can

1 Chronicles 28:1-11 28 And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem. 2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart …

The Father Who Forgave

As the Father of the man whom you took part in murdering, I have something very important to say to you. I forgive you. With all My heart, I forgive you. I realize it may be hard for you to believe, but I really do. At the trial, when you confessed to your part in the events that cost My Son his life and asked for My forgiveness, I immediately granted you that forgiving love from My heart. I can only hope you believe Me and will accept My forgiveness. But this is not all I have to say to …

How are you doing at handling your loneliness?

I don’t have to ask you whether you are lonely. Single or married, you know what this hollow feeling is like. It’s an inescapable part of being human, but trying to escape it rarely works. It just pushes it under the surface for a while, to pop up again later. One of the misbeliefs is that this ache can be eliminated. It can’t be. But you can lessen its effects. You can deal with it in constructive ways that make it less painful and less frequent, but if you think that a romantic relationship will make it go away completely, …

…I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief! Mark 9:24

Here is something that you and I must dwell upon. Personally, I am constantly brought to this: I have not yet learnt thoroughly to believe what I believe in! I believe in the finished work of Christ, yet sometimes I am just as miserable about myself as any man could be. I am often almost at the point of giving up because of what a wretched kind of thing I am. If there is anything in this world that would cause me to give up the Christian ministry, it is myself. Do you understand what I mean? Oh, how we …
