Born of the Flesh

Reflections Born of the Flesh That which is born of the flesh is flesh. (John 3:6) In the final analysis, we are all made of the same flesh – that which belongs to the old creation in Adam. Built into that nature is the same potential for sin. But because each of us are born into a different family, into a different environment, and exposed to different situations – with differing temperaments — we each develop our flesh uniquely. Our personal choices also mold and shape our flesh, but in the end, it IS flesh. We each have a unique …

Believe ~

On his second missionary journey while in Philippi, Paul was asked the most important question that a human being can ask. The Philippian jailer inquired, “What must I do to be saved?” Paul’s answer was astonishing in its simplicity. He replied, “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:30-31). Notice that there is only one verb for the lost person to fulfill before he can receive salvation: “believe.” Nothing in Paul’s answer resembles other conditions that are commonly inserted into modern evangelistic messages, such as baptism, church membership, walking an aisle, Godly sorrow, forsaking sins, etc… …

The Arrows of Life

1 Samuel 20:22“But if I say thus to the young man, ‘Look, the arrows are beyond you’ – go your way, for the LORD has sent you away” ______________________________________________________Like smoke signals sent by an Indian warrior atop a hill, so Jonathan sent David a message by the shooting of an arrow. King Saul had secretly planned to kill David so he had fled to a field for his life. As David hid in the grass, Jonathan was to launch arrows beyond David if he was in danger and he would then know to run for good. If however, the arrows fell …

The Character of a Good Soldier

Our faith grows when we anchor ourselves in God’s power, extend His grace to others, and endure hardship in His name. 2 TIMOTHY 2:1-31 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.2 The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. In 1 Timothy 6:12, Paul calls on believers to “fight the good fight of faith.” Like first-century Christians, believers today are in a three-front …

TOPIC: WHO IS A JEW (ISRAELOLOGY)?

QUESTION: “If I believe in Jesus Christ do I become a Jew? I have been told that if I believe in Jesus Christ I become a spiritual Jew and am a part of Israel. Is this true?” ANSWER: This is an excellent question, and it goes to the heart of an issue that has for too long created a lot of unnecessary conflict and confusion in the body of Christ. How we answer this goes to the root of our understanding how natural law and spiritual law merge together. First, we must remember that all humans originated from one man, …

“Trust Me”

1 Samuel 17:48-51 48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead; and the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth.50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the …

Three Raptures: Vol. III -The Church

Pete GarciaMay 31, 2019 by Pete Garcia and Randy Nettles The Rapture of the Church vs. the Second Coming One of the major theological issues Christian’s have divided over these past two millennia, has been the manner and timing of Christ’s return. Some Christian’s do not believe Christ will return at all, but that is […]

“Tell people that his disciples came during the night and stole his body while you were sleeping.” – Matthew 28:13

The Stolen Body is the oldest theory against the empty tomb. To this day, there are still people teaching that the disciples stole the body of Jesus. However, if the Roman guards were sleeping, how would they know who stole the body? Nevertheless, considering this argument for a while, only two groups would have been interested in stealing the body of Jesus: his friends or his enemies. People who were noncommittal or neutral would not risk their lives in such an attempt.  If Jesus’ friends, the apostles, stole the body, why were they willing to suffer horribly as martyrs for …

Psalm 90 A Prayer of Moses the man of God.1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-placeIn all generations.2 Before the mountains were brought forth,Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world,Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.3 Thou turnest man to destruction,And sayest, Return, ye children of men.4 For a thousand years in thy sightAre but as yesterday when it is past,And as a watch in the night.5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep:In the morning they are like grass which groweth up.6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth …
