Joseph, A Type of Christ

from Care for God’s Fruit-trees and other Messages by H. A. Ironside The story of Joseph as given in Genesis (chapters 37 to 50) is perennially fresh and delightful. Young and old alike revel in it. Looked at as an old-world picture of customs and people long-since vanished, there is a freshness and charm about it that stirs the heart and holds our attention in a remarkable way. But in studying Scripture there is not only the literal application, which is always important, but every part of the Word of God has a spiritual, typical, and dispensational application as well, …

WHAT IT MEANS TO BELIEVE IN JESUS

John 3:16-18 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. The apostle Paul told his jailer, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and …

Revenge or Forgiveness?

1 Samuel 24:8–22 8 David came out and shouted after him, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked around, David bowed low before him. 9 Then he shouted to Saul, “Why do you listen to the people who say I am trying to harm you? 10 This very day you can see with your own eyes it isn’t true. For the Lord placed you at my mercy back there in the cave. Some of my men told me to kill you, but I spared you. For I said, ‘I will never harm the king—he is the Lord’s anointed one.’ …

Woodhead Ph.D. Introduction The Bible gives a prophecy about the development of a world empire out of which a man called Antiochus Epiphanes would emerge. You are not who you were yesterday..

You are not who you were yesterday.. You are not close to being who you will be tomorrow.. You are where you’re meant to be today.. You may not be perfect.. But you ARE chosen.. Just as you are.. God says, I have a word for you.. I know your whole life story.. I know every skeleton in your closet. I know every minute of shame, sin, dishonesty, and degraded love that has darkened your past. I know your shallow faith, your feeble prayer life, and my word is this.. I dare you to trust that I love you just …

Genesis Message 23 The Ark, The Grace of God

In this 23rd video of the Book of Genesis Dr Woodhead discusses how God talks to Noah in this section of Genesis seven times. Other Scriptures where God speaks in sevens are Psalm 29 and Revelation 10. He has just issued His degree of destruction and now He begins to give Noah detailed instructions for the construction of a large barge called an ark. The Hebrew text describes an unpowered sea vessel. The ark would be under construction for 120 years until the Flood came. Watch this video on YouTube

Behind My Mask…..

Dr. Mike Murphy Cancer often brings with it many realities and emotions.  Realities we try our best to avoid so that we do not have to face them, and emotions we do everything we can not to have to feel them.  Those who battle with all that cancer can bring, often find they wear a mask.  A mask not to cover their fears and their pains, but a mask to hide what a true look into their face might show to others.  It is not in the reality we face, but the emotions that reality might bring to those in …

Getting Out of Step

Saul reminds us that humility is a key to receiving the fullness of God’s blessings and power.   1 SAMUEL 13:5-14 5 Now the Philistines assembled to fight with Israel, 30,000 chariots and 6,000 horsemen, and people like the sand which is on the seashore in abundance; and they came up and camped in Michmash, east of Beth-aven. 6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait (for the people were hard-pressed), then the people hid themselves in caves, in thickets, in cliffs, in cellars, and in pits. 7 Also some of the Hebrews crossed the …

Divine Cultivation

“I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: Lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day” (Isaiah 27:3). When the LORD Himself speaks in His own proper person rather than through a prophet, the word has a peculiar weight to believing minds. It is Jehovah Himself who is the keeper of His own vineyard; He does not trust it to any other, but He makes it His own personal care. Are they not well kept whom God Himself keeps? We are to receive gracious watering, not only every day and every hour “but …

Genesis Message 22 Wickedness of Man

In this 22nd video of the book of Genesis Dr Woodhead discusses the importance for us to to make two observations. 1. Wickedness of man was great on the earth 2. Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually The wickedness from the line of Cain as well as the progeny of the fallen angels and promiscuous women produced people who were unrestrained in their wickedness. This is a description of their outward sinful behavior. Since our thoughts drive our behavior the second observation was descriptive regarding the degree of evil they were thinking. The Hebrew …

“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, ”— 2 Timothy 1:9

The apostle uses the perfect tense and says, “Who hath saved us.” Believers in Christ Jesus are saved. They are not looked upon as persons who are in a hopeful state, and may ultimately be saved, but they are already saved. Salvation is not a blessing to be enjoyed upon the dying bed, and to be sung of in a future state above, but a matter to be obtained, received, promised, and enjoyed now. The Christian is perfectly saved in God’s purpose; God has ordained him unto salvation, and that purpose is complete. He is saved also as to the …

GOD’S GREAT CARE

PSALM 42:1-2 _____________________________________________ “As the deer pants for streams of water, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? “     Do you know how much God cares for you? In this life we may never come to a full knowledge of just how much, but if we stop to meditate on this verse we might gain a closer understanding. The Lord has His ways of helping us see His truth. One morning, as I sat alone praying, I was surprised by …
