EXPERIENCING GOD’S LOVE

The Lord wants each of us to experience His great love in a personal and intimate way   Ephesians 3:14-19 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and …

Doing Time

Exodus 24:12; 25:1–9 Exodus 24:12 12 The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.” Exodus 25:1-9 25 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me. 3 And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze, 4 blue and purple and …

The Broken Power of Satan

Reflections     Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. (Heb. 2:1)   When Adam sinned and forfeited life from God, he not only died spiritually, but the entire earthly realm over which God had given him dominion was put under a curse.(Gen. 3:17)   From that point, nothing could be produced out of the earthly realm that was spiritual. And even the physical that was produced required a great …

"He shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom." Isaiah 40:11

Who is he of whom such gracious words are spoken? He is the Good Shepherd. Why doth he carry the lambs in his bosom? Because He hath a tender heart, and any weakness at once melts his heart. The sighs, the ignorance, the feebleness of the little ones of his flock draw forth his compassion. It is his office, as a faithful High Priest, to consider the weak. Besides, he purchased them with blood, they are his property: he must and will care for that which cost him so dear. Then he is responsible for each lamb, bound by …

Jesus’ Path From Hades to Heaven

FROM HADES TO HEAVEN By Tom McCall, Th.D. What happened to the saints of the Old Testament when they died? What happened when Christ died and “descended in to Hades”? What happened between the time the risen Christ appeared to Mary Magdalene and the time He appeared to the disciples later that Sunday evening? What does the Scripture mean that Christ led “captivity captive?” Where do believers go today when they die? The purpose of this article is to find the answer to these questions in the Word of God. When Christ died, His body was in the tomb, but …

At War With God

Here’s a GREAT read by Hal Lindsey! A few years ago Hal preached a message in Dallas and basically said these words—America? Stick a fork in her. She’s done. Finished. Barring some sort of national repentance and Divine intervention, America has “crossed the line” and more than likely will never return to it’s one-time greatness.” Who can argue at this point seeing what we’ve seen in the last 7 years? Our country is going to pot and the potty. Pun intended. Have the leaders of this country lost their collective minds? From the Hal Lindsey Report “In …

David's Mighty Men by T. Austin-Sparks

“And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant. And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam. And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in …

The Cross is the Power of God

Reflections   The cross is…the power of God. (I Cor. 1:18)   The Cross is the power of God. But in what sense? The Cross is the power of God over the old creation, and thus, Satan. That is because the Cross brought an end to the old through death, thus breaking it’s power over those who are raised anew in Christ. The Cross is not new life. But it ended the old life. The Cross broke the power — not the presence or possibility — of the old man of sin. But not to leave us in death. It …

Genesis Msg 8 The Lord Rests

With creation completed the Hebrew text emphasizes finishing, blessing, and sanctifying (setting apart, making holy). That is, God completed and blessed His creation. With creation and making from His creation over all future development on earth would be pro-creation since creation had ceased. The text says that God rested. In Hebrew this is Shabbat and it is used as a verb as in ceasing activity. Later in Exodus it will be used as a noun when the Law was given at Sinai to include the Sabbath. Vaiyeeshbot This word means to cease, desist or rest. It also means to …

David's Last Words by T. Austin-Sparks

“Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, and the man who was raised on high saith, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel: the Spirit of the Lord spake by me, and his word was upon my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, that ruleth in the fear of God, he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springeth out of …

God’s Only Solution

Reflections       To preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the Cross of Christ should be made of no effect. (I Cor. 1:17) There is only one way to be delivered from sin: The source of sin must die. We cannot be delivered from sin by merely being forgiven FOR sin – forgiveness removes the penalty for sin. That is wonderful and essential. But forgiveness alone does not remove the sin itself. There must come a deliverance through death from what Paul calls, “the body of sin,” and, “the old man in Adam.” This was accomplished …

A Healthy Fear

Exodus 19:16-25 16 On the morning of the third day there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud on the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast, so that all the people in the camp trembled. 17 Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their stand at the foot of the mountain. 18 Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly. 19 And as …
